Study Questions

Application

  1. How does it make you feel that God “graciously condescends” to make himself known to you? In what ways do you judge him instead of gratefully receiving him as he offers himself?

  2. Are you regularly experiencing the presence and power of God in the context of local church? If not, what steps do you need to take (e.g., joining a serving team, confessing sin to spiritual authority, committing to a Bible study)?

Key Points

  • God desires our hearts more than any material thing we could offer him.

  • To be intimately seen and received by God, we must also see and receive him as he offers himself to us.

  • In the time of Moses and the Tabernacle, the unholy infected the holy, but now we (the unholy) are purified by Jesus (the holy).

  • The greatest manifestation of God dwelling among his people is the Holy Spirit uniting with and working through the Church.
