Key Points
We have differences within the Body of Christ, but the “most true thing” is the unity we share through the Spirit. (12:3)
Every spiritual gift can be twisted to benefit the one who has it, yet gifts are given by God to help us serve one another in love. (12:7)
Spiritual gifts come from God, not chosen by us. Our responsibility is to steward them. (12:11)
Some parts of the Body require special care, while others are more resilient. At some point, each of us will enter a season when we need special care. (12:25-26)
Application
What are my gifts? How am I using them—for my benefit or for the benefit of others?
Am I lovingly serving the needs of others?
Main Passage Excerpt:
Now, dear brothers and sisters, regarding your question about the special abilities the Spirit gives us. I don’t want you to misunderstand this. You know that when you were still pagans, you were led astray and swept along in worshiping speechless idols. So I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse Jesus, and no one can say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.
