What does it mean for God’s people to wait expectantly? The Israelites waited thousands of years—through cycles of rebellion, judgment, repentance, and faith—for their Messiah, the One who would free them from sin. Today, followers of the Messiah continue to wait on his return, overcoming sin by his power and waiting for the day when he will destroy it forever.
