Forge Retreats at Pine Cove
We are celebrating that over the past two weekends, over 800 students, leaders, volunteers, and staff attended the Forge retreats at Pine Cove! These weekends were full of energy and a meaningful time of worship, teaching, recreation, and community for our high school students.
The Self-Made retreat, for our 11th and 12th graders, asked the question, "What does it mean for us to live as creatures in a self-created world?" They explored what it means to be set apart from the world as believers, because the pressure of being god is not for us to carry. God has invited us to give up our lives, embrace him as the main character, and find a different kind of freedom under his perfect design for our lives.
The Energy retreat allowed our 9th and 10th graders time to learn how God has embedded the valuable resource of energy into each and every one of us, and asked the question, "What does it look like for us to intentionally manage and deploy our energy for the glory of God?” This retreat explored how God created us with energy to move, to work, to connect, to enjoy, and to do it all for his glory.
In addition to teaching, worship, and small groups, students were also able to have fun and explore the lake, participate in group activities, and play indoor and outdoor games in their free time! We are so thankful for everyone who helped plan and served on these retreats. Join us in praying that God continues to work in the hearts of these students and that there is growth in their lives from the seeds that were planted on these retreats.
