123 John | Week 4 | Day 3
Reading
ROMANS 10:9-13
9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
ROMANS 8:38-39
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Reflection
- If you declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart, then you will be saved. You can trust God to keep his promises. List any fears, questions, or doubts you may have about trusting in and following God. Share your response with a parent or small group leader.
- We see in Romans 8:38-39 that nothing will separate us from God’s love. Do you believe that as God’s child, nothing can separate you from his love? Align your fears, worries, and doubts with this truth.
- Take some time to pray. Ask God to continue to show you ways you aren’t trusting in him. Ask him to help you believe that his Word is true and to give you strength to live it out. Share your response to question one with a parent, small group leader, or staff member. Ask them to help you identify lies and replace them with the truth of God’s promises.
